Topic 1: Brexit

Who are these two white men? What is this all about?

If you have been paying attention to international news for the past few years, you might have heard the term “Brexit.” But what does it mean and why is it important?

Map of the European Union

Here’s an explanation from “Simple Wiki”

BREXIT.jpg

Brexit (/ˈbrɛksɪt, ˈbrɛɡzɪt/) is a movement that promotes that the United Kingdom (UK) leave the European Union (EU).

On 23 June 2016, the UK made a referendum that asked whether the UK should leave the EU. The result was that 51.9% of the UK electorate (the main region of the UK) voted that the UK should leave the EU. The rest wanted the UK to stay in the EU. On 29 March 2017, the UK government said that they will definitely be leaving the EU. This started the procedure of Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union, a law that deals with countries that leave the EU. The UK was expected to fully leave the EU on 29 March 2019 at 11 p.m. UTC.[1] The deadline to leave was later changed to 31 October 2019.[2]

On 15 January 2019, Theresa May‘s government was defeated in the House of Commons by 230 votes in a vote on her deal to leave the European Union.[3]

As you can see, this has been going for for several years, and has made many people in the UK angry and confused.

・About the decision that The U.K leave to The E.U.
・Opinions are very different by the regions of The U.K.
・London and Scotland voted strong staying in the EU. But in the rest of England, there were strong feeling to leave.
・The idea is that Britain and the E.U also will have to search for way to separate.
    ・Absolutely not.
The reason the E.U. was born in World War Ⅱ. In World War Ⅱ, Millions people were killed, and effected to all over the world. So, European leaders wanted to build connections between countries and avoid war. I think that War is not one county problem. It is a big event and may be involved in the world counties. So, I think this topic is not only to the U.K. and E.U.
・I don’t know how to resolve this big problem. Because among the British people, the opinions which to leave or stay is definitely separated in the vote.

EU world stunned with Britain’s decisions to go on alone.
Britain voted to leave from EU in 2016. The decision divided the England and affected the entire world. About 50 years ago , EU was created not to have another world war. 28 countries are joined in EU. But soon EU is leaving from EU. With large number of votes of Britain , the referendum was conducted. The result that more than half nations want to leave from EU. People who lives in the city like London and Scottish want to stay in EU, while others want to leave and go on alone.

Final idea of this article is that it is very hard for Britain to leave from European Union because it’s complicated. And problem on UK’s leave seems mainly about a large number of case in immigration happening Middle East and Africa to Europe . This immigration problem costs a lot for European countries.

It’s important topic for any other countries including Japan because of the business for example, trading with EU and the UK separately will be more complicated and needs more work.

My question about this topic is that how come so many people are voting in the UK, while the rate of votes in Japan is very low. Is it just a lack of interest in politics? Or is there some special strategies in the voting system to make people go to vote?

  5. I don’t think one choice is exactly right on this issue. First of all, the EU is a community created for the safety and peace of each country.
I can see the hardships of being an immigrant and many reasons, but I think their choice is still premature. Many problems can still be seen now, but even if Britain leaves the EU, there is a clear possibility that it will cause other problems.
When Britain has a strong adversary and when Brexit is confirmed and out of the world community, they and we become suspicious about whether we can keep the safety and stability of the world away from globalization.
They want to leave the EU because of lack of profit from regulations on their power and problems by immigrants, but they think that it should be preserved and developed based on this period in consideration of good ways to find globalization and other jobs.

    2 A vote in UK
3 51%of the people in UK vote for independence from EU.
4 26 June 2016 a vote for independence from EU done in UK. 46 million people signed up to vote. The reader of EU in Independence Party said “The dawn is breaking on an independent United Kingdom” He wanted to leave from EU. Cameron who was a reader of UK decided to retired by October said next prime minister decide when to leave from EU.
After the vote,UK and EU had to decide many things such as agreements of safety or trade.
Many of the people who voted not to leave from UK in Scotland voted for not independence from EU.So it’s divided. One is in London and Scotland (keep staying ). The other is In UK (leave from EU).
EU has stopped some world war. But people who wanna leave from EU angry because of immigration issue. Immigration gets works from people in UK and be taken care from government. It takes a lot of money.
5 It’s hard to build the future for children.
6 It’s not important for only 2 countries.
Because it makes world countries hard to trade some products. We have to make new agreements of trade between the 2 countries. It’s hard. And UK affected a lot on EU before they left. So the role of the countries in the world must be changed.
That’s why I’m disagree this idea.
7 Q. Is there any countries which wants to leave from EU. If there are so many,EU will be big changing.

Votes for independence from EU in Britain.
    * What does the article say about the subject?
Britain will remain a member of the EU.Breaking up will be hard to do.
    * What are the supporting details?
Of the 46 million people signed up to vote. And over half of the voters chose to leave. But there are many problems, tax for trade, immigration, food and industry.
British Prime minister David Cameron wants to keep Britain in the EU.But many people want to leave. So,former London mayor Boris Johnson may replace Cameron as prime minster.
From a viewpoint of other country of EU, Scotland voted whether Britain should leave.London and Scotland voted strongly staying in EU.But in the rest of England, most people want to leave.
    * What is the final idea in the article?
Britain will remain a member of the EU.
    * Is this topic important only to Europe and the UK? Why or why not?
No,I think.Because many companies from around the world in Europe.Europe is very big market in the world. For example car, food, fashion, and landscapes. And there are many people in Europe as a worker, tourist. If UK leave EU,many important things will be delayed.
So I think this topic isn’t important only to Europe and UK.
    * What question do you have about this topic?
As I said,UK should not leave EU even if many people think UK should. Because Brexit affect adversely and indirectly on our lives. “Identity ”of English is very important and should be admired. But if UK leave EU and it affects on our lives worse,We can’t overlook.

2.Britain’s decision to leave Europe Union is felt around the world.

3.It’s about the Uk should leave EU or not. Some people want to leave but some people don’t.In the end of the voted about leave or not. It’s more than 50%people wanted to leave. And some people think isn’t great but some people who come different countries are so angry and disappointed about the voted.

4.In the final paragraph says”The vote was a rebellion against the political, economic and social mainstream.Farage called the result ”a victory for ordinary people against the big banks, big business and politics.”
Also said that people are angry about the government.

5.I think the UK shouldn’t leave EU.Because the UK don’t let the foreigners who from EU to have a choice. If the UK government and the most of the people really want to leave EU,at least they need to take care of the foreigners.

6.I think It’s not only to EU and the UK,it’s about the whole world.Guess what, when the UK voted to decided leave EU,the shares all of the world dropped sharply. It can know that the whole world is shocked with this decided.

7.I just want to ask the UK people who want to leave EU,if the voted can make a choice one more, will you still choose leave or not?
